The spread of artificial intelligence shows no signs of stopping in the near future. Countless pieces of content generated using this technology now exist in every corner of the vast world of the internet, contaminating all that material created by humans with images, videos, and texts obviously produced by a subject without humanity.

Moving away from the current state of affairs and avoiding this unpleasant type of content is a dream and a desire for many people; more and more users consider artificially generated material to be a nuisance rather than an enrichment of the digital landscape.

To address this unexpected development, Australian artist Tega Brain created “Slop Evader,” a tool for Firefox and Google Chrome that allows users to browse the web as it was in 2022. More specifically, the tool allows users to browse as if they were before November 30, 2022, the date ChatGPT was released.

The artist's intent is not to solve the problem by returning to the past, but rather to encourage viewers to ask themselves questions, to wonder how to collectively reject the dystopian and inhuman version of the Internet that Silicon Valley enthusiasts are imposing.
