The computer industry giant, Google, released its artificial intelligence service just over a year ago, during the month of March 2023. At the time, the approach to the use of these tools of dubious ethics fell into two categories: those attracted by the technological hype were more than willing to share their data for the development of the system, while those in a more guarded position turned to copyright laws to protect their resources.
A few months after Bard's release, in May 2023, Google declared its intention to create an 'AI-compatible Internet that allows scraping by default'. In order to safeguard themselves from a fate in the hands of others, publishers, users, and online domain owners must therefore make use of the option to 'opt-out' of this practice, excluding themselves from the pool of online environments destined to become fertile ground for the company's AI.
