When it comes to counterfeiting, one tends to think, first and foremost, of money. In this case, the situation is different, although money still plays a primary role in the matter. The textile sector seems to be the main victim of this illicit activity - recently, a loss of EUR 12 billion in annual sales (around 5% of the entire sector) was confirmed.

As if this were not enough, this change has led to the loss of around 160,000 jobs, both within the textile industry and elsewhere: the cosmetics sector, for example, has lost 32,000 and the toy industry 3,600.

Europe is slowly being torn apart by the infamous 'art' of counterfeiting, although Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Austria are the countries with the most worrying losses: almost 8 billion euros.
