EU agrees directive banning misleading use of environmental claims on many products.

Earth is our only planet. For years now, it has become apparent that there is a need to change our habits, especially within large industries and on an even larger scale, as an attempt to address the profound environmental damage the planet has suffered so far.

The spread of this sensibility seems not to have had the desired success, many nations limiting their own efforts to the bare minimum, rendering others' efforts futile. As for Europe, the situation is currently stabilising standards, thanks to the recent introduction of a directive against greenwashing.

The new rules aim to ensure that labels on products are more reliable for consumers. This may not save the planet directly, but it will force big companies to be more transparent.
