An AI-Generated Content Empire Is Spreading Fake Celebrity Images on Google.

Recently, Fandomwire published a post on X (Twitter) dedicated to the actor who will play the role of Kang The Conqueror in the next Marvel film. The post, now deleted, explained that Jonathan Majors, the actor previously chosen for the part, will be replaced by John David Washington. Apparently, this post seems like any other.

It would be too, were it not for the fact that the photograph chosen to accompany the post was, in fact, artificially generated with such precision that the original authors of the article did not notice. Right now, the image of John David Washington is still present on Google, and is even one of the first results if you do a search in his name.

After a short search, the origin of this particularly plausible photograph was discovered, revealing millions of similar images representing various actors and celebrities. The website they came from is called Motion Picture Magazine and not only offers artificially generated photographs, it seems to be filled with similarly generated articles and posts.
