There is no doubt, by now, that artificial intelligence has capabilities that are impressive to say the least; in a short time, it seems to have managed to detect medical symptoms that doctors fail to notice, to decipher ancient texts that have defeated experts for years, to predict the weather more accurately than we have seen so far.

However, it is clear that a technology will never be able to rival the human mind empathically, sentimentally, emotionally. The chatbots we converse with nowadays do not possess a heart, or a thinking mind - no matter how 'alive' they may seem, they will never be able to connect with an interlocutor on an emotional level.

The article we refer to today is the presentation of a new BBC series called 'AI v the Mind' - the project aims to explore the limits of artificial intelligence, comparing it with the most powerful 'thinking machine' on the planet: the human brain.
