Dell Hacked – 49 Million Customers Data Affected.

The month of May began with an unpleasant announcement from Dell Technologies: on Friday 10, the company said it had launched an investigation into a data breach incident involving a company portal. Within the latter was a limited amount of information, including names, addresses, and customer orders.

The company specified that no data of a financial or highly sensitive nature was compromised - emails, payment information and phone numbers remained protected. With the results of the investigation, Dell later shared that it ‘does not believe there are any significant risks to customers.’

The company was extremely swift and thorough in implementing security and privacy intervention procedures, and then requested support from a third-party company to investigate further.
