Urban crime is a rather insidious problem, threatening the safety of cities and citizens, giving the authorities a hard time since the dawn of civilisation. Thanks to the development of technology, however, tools have been created to facilitate the work of the police, thus speeding up the process of recognising and arresting offenders.

Facial recognition technology has  enabled the UK authorities to arrest a considerable number of criminals in recent years. What takes several minutes and visual witnesses can be speeded up by the implementation of this resource. Nevertheless, technology should not be taken as a guarantee of quality: even such advanced recognition systems can make mistakes, and it happens more often than one would wish.
