The Center for Investigative Reporting, a nonprofit news outlet responsible for publishing "Reveal" and "Mother Jones," recently accused the creator of OpenAI, and its trusted business partner Microsoft, of Copyright infringement.

More specifically, the association accused OpenAI of using its content without permission and without offering any compensation, thus violating copyrights on journalism. Moreover, it stated that the accused company is "built on the exploitation of others' copyrighted works." Within the statement, filed in New York's federal court, the serious threat hidden behind article summaries, when generated by artificial intelligence, was pointed out as well.

The entire existence of journalism is based on its usefulness and reliability to readers; since the advent of artificial intelligence and its misuse in the media-literary sphere, the veracity of much news has been rightly questioned.
