Two years after the sudden boom in artificial intelligence, triggered by the release of ChatGPT in November 2022, the company behind this rapid rise has recently declared that the latest version of its famous product is capable of ‘thinking’, supposedly bridging the gap between technology and the human mind - but is it really that simple?

O1, to be regarded as version 4.5 of ChatGPT, is thus able to think and, more importantly, construct thoughts as the threads of reasoning behind the answers proposed to its users. Unlike previous versions, therefore, O1 is designed to reason about decisions and the results generated.

Several users are therefore dabbling in questioning O1 on its thinking methodology, vivisecting the answers obtained to provoke the chatbot. In return, however, they got emails from OpenAI, in which the company demanded that they stop, otherwise their accounts would be suspended.
