According to today's reference article, a home-delivery giant has again fallen victim to a major data breach. Uber Eats, a food delivery company particularly popular in the United States, had already been the victim of a suspiciously similar unfortunate affair in November 2023, during which 1.4 million pieces of data had been compromised.
Current news reports that a certain ‘888’, a BreachForums user, recently published a second data breach, thus exposing around 283,000 orders. Within the published data there seems to be no personal customer information, such as names and addresses, however, there are the names of the businesses, the orders placed and the costs of those orders.
The company has not issued any press release on the matter at the moment, making the possibility of confirming the mentioned data breach somewhat complex. Users whose orders were leaked, however, may soon find themselves at risk of phishing, perpetrated through the use of the data published in the breach.
