With the worrying spread of artificial intelligence within the artistic and creative sector, several platforms have been taken over by artificially generated material, much to the disappointment of users. Pinterest, Facebook, and TikTok are just three of the most affected apps, whose “human” content seems to be becoming less frequent every day, with material created by this controversial technology growing visibly.

Spotify, the famous music streaming platform, has obviously fallen victim to this spread, especially following the growing popularity of Udio and Suno, two AI services for generating audio content. Recently, therefore, the platform announced new policies aimed at resolving three problems that have arisen due to AI: the impersonation of artists (some of whom are deceased), the use of technology in the creation of a song, and ‘slop’, a term widely used to refer to poor-quality spam content generated entirely by AI.

Spotify has taken a number of initiatives, from introducing a new method for analyzing file metadata to cleaning up detected spam content.
